Venezuelan born Berlin based Hyperaktivist it's been shaking the scene in and outside Berlin with her characteristic energetic sets, oscillating between faster Techno and House with big influence in the 90's and old school tracks.

Since co-founding the first techno club in her hometown, Hyperaktivist has played a pivotal role in politicising Berlin’s underground. With MESS—her rebuttal to the boys club of Berlin techno—her relentless effort to push femme DJs to the fore has resulted in a long-standing OHM residency, and seen a rolodex of revered queer and femme artists grace its decks. With the intense and intimate Mala Junta, the DJ has co-cultivated a spirit of freedom, protest and celebration within Berlin’s queer community—earning recognition and collaborations from the likes of Berghain, Bassiani, Whole Festival, and Basement as well as countless collaborations with like minded collectives worldwide, with both her events, while still retaining its radical roots.

CHRISTIAN BARBUTO is a DJ/Producer who, after two decades of living in North America, now resides in Sydney. He is the head for Mavic Music, an underground techno label that is approaching 100 releases with over 400 singles (including ‘Aetheria’ by WISER, who recently played with Blackout). He has also charted with original music on Codex, OFF, Tronic, Octopus, Unity, Set About, Nervous and Transmit.

Deep Waves is our second regular series of events. It was created to showcase several interpretations of Techno in a chill atmosphere where everyone is invited to come as they are to satisfy their techno needs while enjoying some party enhancements. 

Following our first edition in November 2022 with Melbourne-based headliner HARRY J DEE, we are incredibly excited to bring you BARBUTO for this second round. From melodic to dark, from minimal to hard - Deep Waves is an invitation into the heart of Techno.

Tactfully blurring the line between chaos and order, WISER has torn down any expectations she’s encountered along the way, carving her own winding path in Melbourne and beyond. 

Her most notable creations include Dazed HDT (Hard Dance Therapy) and ‘Rascal!!’ (a debaucherous party alongside Thick as Thieves). She was also invited to curate an ongoing event series at the infamous Revolver Upstairs. Lastly, she’s performed at the Sydney World Pride for Barba Amplified. 

An accomplished artist, DJ and producer, WISER looks to the horizon with a calm knowing that there can’t be darkness without light… the future's looking brighter than ever. Blackout and Gravity are extremely excited to have her on board for her New Zealand debut!

The same rules apply: techno night in a secret club dungeon in Auckland CBD and a delicious opportunity to dress kinky.

Following our first Decadance event, the venue will be enhanced and surprise entertainment will arise throughout the dungeon: get ready for a sensorial experience mixing electronic music and sensual performances.
